The Deputy went to his last known address with no success in locating Garrett. The Deputy later went to the address of 1006 Grand Street in Lamar. When the Deputy knocked on the door in attempt to locate Garrett, the occupants of the residence turned all the lights off inside the residence.
The Deputy received fresh information that Garrett was currently in the residence. Deputies requested assistance from Lamar Police Department in securing the residence until a Search Warrant could be obtained. Once Deputies obtained a search warrant for the residence, Deputies along with Office from Lamar Police Department executed the search warrant. Initially Deputies attempted to gain access through the front door and was not successful.

The back door was attempted and they were able to gain access in to the residence. Deputies located a female and small child upon entry in to the residence. Deputies and Officers continued to search the residence and eventually located Garrett Jones avoiding detection from law enforcement by hiding under a bed.
Garrett was taken in to custody without further incident and transported to the Barton County Jail where he was processed on his charges.

This is a great example of two agencies working together to take a dangerous criminal off street can do.
