We would like to take a moment to share some news from Mrs. Brenda Koch, Sherwood R-8 Middle School Principal:
I’m excited to announce that I will be retiring at the end of the 2021-22 school year. It has been an honor to serve the Sherwood community for the past 19 years as a teacher (5 years) and principal (14 years) at Sherwood Middle School.
I began my education as a kindergarten student at Urich Elementary and remained in the Sherwood school district until graduation in 1989. After graduating from CMSU in Warrensburg, I kicked off my teaching career at Holden Middle School as a 7th and 8th grade math teacher. In these first 10 years I developed a passion for middle level education, gaining valuable experience and many dear friends.
In 2003, I was given the opportunity to return home to teach at Sherwood Middle School in the district where I lived and where my children attended. Over the years, I’ve worked together with many teachers, administrators, support staff members and parents with the goal of providing quality education in a caring environment. We’ve done just that and I’m very proud that I’ve been able to contribute to this amazing school culture. Sherwood will always have a very special place in my heart.
Serving the Sherwood community as a principal, alongside many other talented administrators has been rewarding. I’m grateful for both the challenges and successes that I’ve experienced and look forward to hearing about the continued success of the district in the coming years.
