State Farm Student Athlete of the week Rich Hill Junior Clare Klinksick

We are thrilled to announce this week’s State Farm student athlete of the week junior, Clare Klinksick from Rich Hill.

Clare was nominated by her coach Brian Thomas. Coach Thomas stated “Clare basically plays all positions for us. In the Appleton City Tournament she averaged 13 points, 10 rebounds, and 2 assists.

Clare is playing this season with an injured knee. She is always hustling and is a very coachable player.” We asked Clare to describe in her own words what it takes to become a leader and an elite athlete on your team.

She stated “you have to know your players and have trust in your team.” When we asked her how she becomes a better player each day she stated “you have to have a good mindset and try not to get frustrated”. Clare is unsure of her plans after she graduates as she is only a junior but she is considering looking into going to college to be physical therapist.

Her favorite thing about playing basketball are the relationships she has built and playing with teammates. She stated “one of the things she has learned from playing basketball that she can apply later on in life is how to become a good leader and how to be able to read people better.” It was a pleasure meeting Clare and we wish her and the lady tigers the best of luck tonight agains Adrian.
