Following work to fix a drainage issue around the Bates county courthouse, concerns have been raised regarding how it has been left in the meantime which includes a rock formation on the west side and gravel fill in the sidewalk.
Mid America Live spoke with the Bates county commissioners regarding these issues and was assured that while the drainage issue has been corrected (which now vectors rainwater away from the building instead into the basement) there are still things to be done soon including laying of a new sidewalk that will allow a ‘green area’ between the sidewalk and the building- and a new arrangement regarding the rock formation that will be more appealing for the courtyard.
