He graduated from Holden High School in 1997. In 2005, he was joined in marriage to Jennifer Alkire, to this union two sons were born: William Joseph in 2004 and Wesley Daniel in 2007.
Jeremy went to work for Walmart in Lee’s Summit, Missouri in 1998 and celebrated 20 years in 2018. At that time, he relocated to Lowry City and went to work for Tracker Boats.
Jeremy loved to hunt and fish; he could be found fishing anytime he had 10 minutes to throw in a lure. He was baptized and a member of Elm Spring Baptist Church in Kingsville, Missouri.
Jeremy was preceded in death by his mother Margaret Ann Allen, his paternal grandfather John William Spurgeon and his maternal grandparents Dorothy and Phil Allen.
He is survived by his boys: William Joseph Spurgeon, and Wesley Daniel Spurgeon, both of Centerview, Missouri. His father and stepmother, Roger and Delisa Spurgeon of Lowry City, Missouri, his twin sister, Jessica Lee Hughes of Lone Jack, Missouri, his grandmother, Rachel Spurgeon of Kingsville, Missouri, as well as his Aunt Pam Causey and Uncle Steve Spurgeon, both of Kingsville, Missouri.
The family suggests memorial contributions be made to the Elm Spring Baptist Cemetery in care of the Sheldon-Goodrich Funeral Home.
