Clinton High School names new head wrestling coach

Clinton High School is proud to announce it has selected Todd Mowery as its next Head Wrestling Coach.

Coach Mowery is currently an assistant wrestling coach in the El Dorado Springs School District, where in the last three years the wrestling team has seen much success. Participation has increased over 500%, the boys team earned three conference titles, and the girls two.

The boys team received a district runner-up title, and the team had seven state qualifiers and two state medalists in the past two years. In 2021, Mowery was one of several individuals selected by the Missouri Wrestling Association as a District Coach of the Year. Todd also has football coaching experience, both with the Osceola and El Dorado Springs School Districts.

During his high school years, Todd was a three-sport athlete, participating in football, baseball and wrestling. Todd’s senior year was capped off by being selected to play the safety position in the Ohio All-Star Football Game.

Todd attended college at Columbus State Community College in Ohio, the University of Cincinnati, and Southern New Hampshire University earning a Bachelor of Science in Sports Management.

Todd and his wife, Jamie (an administrative assistant with the Clinton School District), have been married for 12 years. They have two children Braxton and Kinley who are both sports enthusiasts. Braxton will be in 5th grade next year and will continue to wrestle and play football in the Clinton youth organizations and Kinley, who will be in 3rd grade next year, enjoys basketball and baseball.

Activities Director, Alex Johnson looks forward to the impact Coach Mowery will make in the district. “If you know Todd’s story, you know that getting to Clinton has been a process. What I admire most about Todd, and why I’m so excited to have him on staff, is that he has the “ALL IN“ mentality I expect of both myself and all coaches and sponsors on our staff. I know this mentality will carry over to what he is going to do for our kids in coaching, teaching, and character development. Todd is excited to start a NEW ERA in Clinton and I am thrilled to have him on our team. Welcome “Coach Mow!”

Coach Mowery is looking forward to beginning his work with our Cardinals, “I am beyond excited to coach for Clinton athletics next year. There has been a strong foundation set within the youth organizations and I intend on building from that foundation and bringing out the absolute best of everyone involved. It will be a process and will take everyone involved buying into that process to succeed. It's the beginning of "A NEW ERA" in Clinton and I couldn't be happier to be a part of it.”

Welcome aboard Todd, we are so excited to have you as part of our Cardinal family!
