Northbound I-49 Reduced to One Lane Starting at Rich Hill for Resurfacing Work Beginning Week of May 23


Where: Northbound I-49 between Bates County Route A/B in Rich Hill and Cass County Route A/B in Archie

 

When: 7 a.m.-7 p.m., Mondays through Saturdays beginning week of May 23

 

What: Contractor crews removing old asphalt and replacing with a new layer of asphalt and adding rumbles

 

Traffic Impact:

  • Expect lane closures and possible traffic delays where contractor crews are laying asphalt
  • At least one lane of traffic will be OPEN in each direction at all times
  • Work will be done 7 a.m.-7 p.m., Mondays through Saturdays
  • All lanes OPEN during nighttime hours
  • Speed limit reduced to 60 mph where crews are working
  • Signs and message boards will alert drivers approaching the work zone
  • No signed detours
  • Drivers should find alternate routes around the work zone
  • Check MoDOT’s Traveler Information Map for road closings/traffic impacts

 

Weather and/or construction delays could alter the work schedule.

 

This is part of a project to resurface and replace guardrail and guard cable on a section of I-49 in Cass and Bates counties and Missouri Route 18 in Bates and Henry counties.
