Obituary - Floyd Kenneth Neely

Floyd Kenneth Neely, 82, El Dorado Springs, MO, passed away at St. John’s Mercy Hospital Tuesday, June 7, 2022, due to severe sepsis. Floyd was born at home during a blizzard on November 2, 1939, to Evan Kelly and Clarissa (Ellerman) Neely.

Floyd attended Rock School then El Dorado Springs High School graduating in 1957. Kenneth was united in marriage to Donna Rae McCullick on November 28, 1957. To this union were born three children; Kyle David, Leslie Allen, and Suzan Sheree.

Floyd retired from GMAD Leeds at the age of 48. After retiring from automotive production in 1989, Kenneth and his beloved Donna Rae returned to Cedar County. There wasn’t a road in the county he didn’t recognize. He loved the El Dorado Springs community and the land he always called home. Kenneth was an active community volunteer and supporter of Crosslines Center of El Dorado Springs. 

Kenneth also served alongside his wife within the West Central Mo Community Action Agency. Kenneth and Donna enjoyed traveling and good food. Simone’s cheeseburgers and root beer followed by a strawberry ice cream cone were lifetime favorites. An avid NASCAR fan, Ken could be found cheering his favorite driver every Sunday afternoon.

Kenneth was preceded in death by his wife Donna Rae, parents, brother Lloyd Lee Neely, mother and father-in-law Allen Ray and Ruth Imogene McCullick, infant sister-in-law Ruth Allene, infant nephew James Dean Ogle, son-in-law J.Hoon Kim, brother and sister-in-law Dean and Myrna Parks.

Kenneth is survived by his children Kyle (Debbie) Neely, Clinton, Les Neely, St Joseph, Suzan Neely-Kim, Quincy, IL; eight grandchildren, Michael (Cassie)Neely, Kirsten Allen, Brian(Melanie)Neely, Ben(Ashley)Neely, Jessica Jestes, Madison, Molly, and Morgan Kim. 14 great-grandchildren, in-laws Jeanie and Jim Ogle, Donna C. Neely, Aunt Lorene Kennon, and many nieces and nephews.

Services for Floyd Kenneth Neely are Sunday, June 12, 2022, at 1 pm visitation, 2 pm funeral service followed by interment at El Dorado Springs Cemetery with Rev. Brent Bland officiating.
