The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2019 Polaris UTV driven by 26 year old Derek W. Scott of Strasburg, Missouri was traveling southbound when the UTV received a flat tire, it traveled off the road to the right side, and hit an embankment. Scott was ejected from the vehicle and struck a utility pole
Mr. Scott was transported to an area hospital and was pronounced dead at 3:33 a.m. This is Troop A of the Missouri State Highway Patrol's 25th Fatality accident of the year 2022.
