Butler man charged after shooting on Saturday Night

On July 2nd around 5:30 p.m. the Butler Police Department along with Bates County Sheriff's Deputies, Bates County EMS and Missouri State Highway Patrol Troopers responded to a report of a shooting at 301 E. Pleasant Street in Butler.

When officers arrived on scene they made contact with a male party who had been shot in the arm with a 20 Gauge Shotgun loaded with bird shot. 

The resident of the home who was identified as 48 year old Michael G. Barr was taken into custody without any incident.

Mr. Barr is being held on a $100,000 cash only bond for 1st Degree Assault with more charges pending at this time.

The person who was shot was identified as Russell Morris of Butler and he was treated at the scene of this shooting and was released.
