Another busy day for the Nevada Fire Department

Yesterday 1-28-23 your Nevada Firefighters responded to another pair of structure fires.

At 1505 hours B-Shift was dispatched for a house with a fire on the outside of the structure. Chief Denney and E219 responded with 3 personnel and found the fire out on arrival. Fire was started due to ash from smoking material but was put out by the owner.

At 2001 hours B-Shift was alerted to to a structure fire next to Casey’s on Austin. E219 with a crew of 3 responded and found a commercial garage with fire showing.

Chief Denney was on scene from noticing the fire while driving. Crews brought the fire under control in roughly 10 minutes. Quint 216 and truck 210 responded with 4 total off duty personnel.

Thank you to Compton Junction and Milo Fire for Mutual aid. The fire was a result of flying sparks from a grinder igniting flammable liquids.
