On 10-27-22, deputies were dispatched to the report of an animal bite in Creighton, MO. Upon his arrival, Dep. Hamby located a 7 y/o child who had been the victim to a violent dog attack. The child had lost a substantial amount of blood and had numerous serious physical injuries.
Dep. Hamby quickly identified that the child had a potentially life threatening laceration to her arm. Dep. Hamby placed his issued tourniquet on the child's arm and addressed her other injuries.
Dep. Hamby performed life saving treatment for the child and comforted her until EMS personnel arrived. The child was flown to Children's Mercy Medical Center and has recovered from her injuries. Without Dep. Hamby's quick thinking and action, the outcome of this incident could have been tragically different. #LifeSavingAward
