Two dead, One seriously injured in Southern Missouri crash

On January 13th around 6:42 p.m. the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Stone County along with Stone County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a two vehicle accident on Route TT around 2 miles east of Reavisville.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the 2018 Ford Taurus driven by 33 year old Craig M. Laney of Aurora, Missouri attempted to pass another vehicle and struck the 1999 Ford Taurus driven by 43 year old Rachal L. Reavis of Crane, Missouri head on. Both vehicle traveled off the roadway where the 2018 Ford Taurus caught on fire and burnt.

Rachal L. Reavis along with a passenger in her vehicle 46 year old Garrett L. Chambers of Pleasant Hill, Missouri both were pronounced dead at the scene of this accident.

Craig M. Laney sustained serious injuries and he was flown by air ambulance to Mercy Hospital in Springfield, Missouri for treatment.

This is Troop D of the Missouri State Highway Patrol's 4th and 5th fatalities of the year 2023.
