Butler Bears Baseball gets big win over El Dorado Springs

The Butler Bears Varsity Baseball team stole the lead late in the game in a 13-3 victory over the El Dorado Springs Bulldogs on Thursday. 

The game was tied at three with the Bears batting in the bottom of the fourth when Brandon Hammett drew a walk, scoring one run. Butler earned the victory despite allowing El Dorado Springs to score three runs in the first inning.

El Dorado Springs got things moving in the first inning, driving in one. In the bottom of the first inning, Butler Bears tied things up at three when Junior Cameron Anderson singled on a 1-2 count, scoring two runs. 

The Butler Bears scored seven runs in the sixth inning. The big bats were lead by Brandon Hammett, Bryson Kash, Eli Cox, Peyton Jackson, and Cameron Anderson, all driving in runs in the inning. 

Senior Zayn Carson was the winning pitcher for Butler Bears. Carson allowed one hit and zero runs over five innings, striking out eight. The El Dorado Springs started the game. The hurler lasted four innings, allowing two hits and four runs while striking out four.

The next pitcher for the Bulldogs threw one inning out of the bullpen. Brock Lines started the game for the Butler Bears. The pitcher lasted one inning, allowing three hits and three runs while striking out one and walking one.

The Bears racked up ten hits on the day. Cox, Anderson, Jackson, and Kash each racked up multiple hits for the Butler Bears. Kash, Jackson, Anderson, and Cox each collected two hits the lead the Butler Bears.

Butler Bears stole nine bases during the game as three players stole more than one. Cox led the way with two.
