Early Lead For Harrisonville Seals Fate for Butler Bears Varsity Baseball Team:

The Butler Bears Varsity baseball team fell behind early and couldn’t come back in a 9-2 loss to the Harrisonville Wildcats on Monday. Harrisonville scored on a single by Goss and an error in the first inning. 

The Bears struggled to contain the high-powered offense of a Harrisonville, giving up nine runs. In the first inning, Harrisonville got their offense started when Goss singled on a 3-2 count, scoring one run.

Harrisonville score three runs n the sixth inning. Shuey and Mitchell all drove in runs in the frame. Goss got the start for Harrisonville. The pitcher laser six innings, allowing three hits and two runs while striking out eight. Zayn Carson was on the Hill for the Bears.

The righty allowed three hits and five runs over three and two-thirds innings, striking out seven. Eli Cox threw two and a third innings out of relief. Carson, Cox, Peyton Jackson, and Brayden Jackson all had one hit to lead the Bears.

Harrisonville tallied seven hits. Stolte and Goss each manganese multiple hits for Harrisonville. Harrisonville stole five bases during the game as two players stole more than one. Worthley led the way with two.
