Gloria Yvonne Deems, age 92 of Butler, Missouri died Friday, March 17, 2023 at Addington Place of Lee’s Summit, Missouri. She was born December 15, 1930 to Richard Archibald and Mary Lillian Cunningham Ellis in Butler, Missouri.
Gloria, an only child, grew up in Harrisonville, Missouri and Butler, Missouri where she attended school and was a 1948 graduate of Butler High School. She was co-owner of Deems Farm Equipment in Butler. On October 15, 1949 she married Lelan C. Deems, and to this union three children were born. She was a member of PEO and First Baptist Church of Butler and later attended the Happy Hill Church of God. Gloria enjoyed playing bridge, Skipbo, reading and sports.
Gloria is survived by two children, Gary Deems of Butler, Missouri and Gayl Bartimus and husband Gary of Lee’s Summit, Missouri; 4 grandchildren; and 12 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Lelan Deems and a daughter, Glynda Deems.
