Ron grew up in Kansas City and attended school there. He joined the family business at a young age. His first marriage, Deborah Stokes, brought him a daughter, Misty, that he continued to love until the day he died. Ron later married Katherine, the love of his life, and he gained another daughter, Emma. Many grandchildren and a great grandchild followed. Ron was a father figure to many nieces and nephews.
He loved them all unconditionally and he loved to tease and joke with them all. Ron was a big fan of the Kansas City Chiefs, NASCAR, wrestling, and vintage Hot Rods.
Ron was big man with a bigger heart. His family is left with an even bigger void without him.
Ron is survived by his wife, Katherine, of the home; two daughters, Misty Dawn Lawson (John) Belton, MO, and Emma Copenhaver (Mike), El Dorado Springs, MO; 11 grandchildren; one great-granddaughter; two brothers, James Attebury, Crocker, MO, and Chuck Attebury (Debbie), Collins, MO; two sisters, Cindy Miller (Kurt), El Dorado Springs, MO, and Starla Paul, Peculiar, MO; as well as numerous nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, Arthur Attebury.
Memorial services will be held at 3:00 p.m. on Friday, April 21, 2023 at Ferry Funeral Home in Nevada. Friends may call now and until the hour of service at the funeral home.
