Update: Two arrested in Butler after resisting arrest

On April 21st around 6:30 a.m. the Butler Police Department was dispatched to Burger King on a suspicious vehicle in the parking lot. 

When officers arrived on scene they saw a Kia SUV fleeing the area. A traffic stop was conducted on the vehicle near 52 Highway and I-49.

When officers made contact with the female driver they was advised that she had 2 warrants from another county that were extraditable.

The officer advised the driver she was under arrest for her warrants and she refused to be hand cuffed and resisted the officer until a taser was deployed.

The driver who was identified as 33 year old Takeshia Renea Stewart of Kansas City, Missouri was arrested for 1.) Howell County Sheriff's Office Warrant - Failure to appear in court on the original charge of resisting arrest, bond is $20,000 surety only 2.) Driving while revoked 3rd or 4th offense 3.) Operating a motor vehicle in a careless and imprudent manner 4.) Failure to maintain financial responsibility. 

A passenger in the vehicle 38 year old Antonio Lamont Duncan of Kansas City, Missouri was arrested on a out standing warrant out of Kansas City for possession of a controlled substance.

Both Duncan and Stewart were booked into the Bates County Jail in Butler and both are currently listed as bondable.

Butler Police was assisted by the Missouri State Highway Patrol and the Bates County Sheriff's Office.
