Butler Bears Varsity Claims Lead in Sixth Inning to Defeat Archie

The Butler Bears Varsity baseball team took the lead late in the game as they had a 6-4 victory on Tuesday. 

The game was tied at four with the Bears batting in the bottom of the sixth when Peyton Jackson grounded out, scoring one run. Archie got on the board in the first inning when #7 singled on a 0-1 count, scoring two runs.

Maddox Fennewald took the win for the Bears. The righty surrendered two runs on one hit over two innings, striking out six.

#14 was on the mound for Archie. The pitcher was allowed six hits and three runs over five innings, striking out nine. #6 threw one inning in relief.

Zayn Carson started the game for the Bears. The right-hander surrendered two runs on two hits over four innings, striking out nine.

The Bears totaled seven hits in the game. Fennewald and Bryson Kash all managed multiple hits for the Bears. Fennewald went 3-for-3 at the plate to lead the Bears in hits. 

The Bears was sure-handed and didn’t commit a single error. Jake Chandler made the most plays with ten.
