El Dorado Springs man killed in early morning Vernon County crash

On Friday May 6th around 12:08 a.m. the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Vernon County along with Vernon County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a two vehicle accident on Missouri 54 Highway around 4 miles west of El Dorado Springs, Missouri.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the westbound 2018 Peterbilt tractor trailer driven by 33 year old Matthew A. Trandum of Camdenton, Missouri crossed the center line and struck an eastbound 2008 Chevrolet Silverado driven by 30 year old Clinton T. Stacy of El Dorado Springs, Missouri head on.

Mr. Stacy was pronounced dead at the scene of this accident and Trandum sustained serious injuries and was transported to Mercy Hospital in Joplin for treatment.

This is Troop D of the Missouri State Highway Patrol's 33rd fatality accident of 2023.
