Jim was born May 30, 1935 at the family home in Calhoun, Missouri, to George Newton Bilbruck and Lillian Marie “Johnson” Bilbruck. He graduated from Calhoun High School. Jim served in the United States Army.
Jim married Shirley “Galloway” Bilbruck on August 20, 1954, on Shirley’s parents farm in rural Green Ridge, Missouri. They celebrated their 68th Wedding Anniversary last August.
Jim was a member of the Calhoun American Legion Post# 566. He was a beekeeper and did public presentation about bees and he would collect a swarm of bees with no protective gear on. Jim loved to garden and competed in the Calhoun Colt Show Gardening Competition and has several ribbons to show for his gardening skills.

Jim also had a passion for fishing, and was a fishing guide for Biff Henderson on Truman Lake on one of his fishing guide outings. He was a bit disappointed with the extent of his stories that got shared on the television episode compared to the stories he shared that day.
Jim is survived by his wife, Shirley Bilbruck; daughter Kimberly Weston, sons, Bret (Ann) Bilbruck, and Brian Bilbruck; 8 grandchildren, and 12 great-grandchildren; sister, Wanda Jo (Bill) Wood; and several other family and friends.
He was preceded by his parents, George Newton and Lillian Marie Bilbruck; and son in law Dave Weston.
