Butler Junior Lady Bears Clinches Lead in Fifth Inning to Defeat Drexel

Butler Junior Lady Bears snatched the lead late in the game in an 18-15 victory over Drexel on Tuesday. The game was tied at 14 with Butler Junior Lady Bears batting in the top of the fifth when Kadence W singled on a 1-0 count, scoring one run.

Both offenses were strong at the plate as Butler Junior Lady Bears collected nine hits and Drexel seven in the high-scoring affair

Drexel took an early lead in the first inning. Drexel scored two runs on a stolen base.

Drexel scored seven runs in the second inning. Drexel's big inning was driven by singles by Kayden, Paige, Alexis, and Sophie, a walk by Aubry K, and a triple by Emily.

Braelynn I was the winning pitcher for Butler Junior Lady Bears. Braelynn lasted three innings, allowing one hit and four runs while striking out ten. Isabel B threw one inning in relief out of the bullpen.

Haleigh F led things off in the circle for Drexel. The pitcher went two innings, allowing eight runs on six hits and striking out three. Kayden, Paige, and Hayleagh S each contributed in relief for Drexel.

Butler Junior Lady Bears totaled nine hits in the game. Mylee B, Kadence, and Kelsey all managed multiple hits for Butler Junior Lady Bears. Kelsey, Kadence, and Mylee each collected two hits to lead Butler Junior Lady Bears. Mylee had ten chances in the field, the most on the team. Butler Junior Lady Bears stole 24 bases during the game as eight players stole more than one. Addyson C led the way with five.

Drexel racked up seven hits on the day. Alexis and Paige each racked up multiple hits for Drexel. Paige had the most chances in the field with seven. Alexis led Drexel with nine stolen bases, as they ran wild on the base paths with 27 stolen bases.
