Obituary - Juanita Nank Wilke

Juanita Louise (Nank) Wilke, 77, passed away on June 20, 2023 at St. Luke’s Hospital of Kansas City. Juanita was born on June 10, 1946, in Dubuque Iowa, the daughter of Carl and Rose (Spiker) Nank. In 1963 she and her family moved to Garden Grove, California where she graduated from Bolsa Grande High School in 1964. Shortly thereafter she married Richard C Wilke, they were married for 9 years, during their marriage they adopted a baby girl they named Susan Louise Wilke. In 1975 she got divorced and dedicated her life to Jesus and her daughter.

She is survived by her daughter, Susan (Susie), and her husband Danny Hall, Lee’s Summit, MO; her grandchildren Garrick and Lindsey Hall, Katilynd and Kyle Olsen, and Nathan; her sisters Barbara and Joanne, her brother Roger and Jane Nank; her great-grandchildren Leon and Willow Hall; and many other relatives and friends she cherished dearly.

Juanita was preceded in death by her father Carl M Nank, brother Paul K Nank, mother Rose E Nank, and brothers Stanley J Nank and Carl B Nank.

Juanita worked as a bookkeeper and accountant most of her life. In 1997 she was hired by the IRS as a clerk in Accounts Management. During her time working for the IRS, she worked as an Administrative Assistant for various department managers. She was a very hard worker and would help any and everyone who needed it. She retired from the IRS in 2009, she received many accolades and awards for her years of service. After retirement, she worked as a Walmart Greeter for 2 years, in Lee’s Summit, MO. After she left Walmart she took care of a friend's granddaughter named Josie, who she loved like a granddaughter.

Juanita was a proud mother, grandmother, follower of Jesus, and Kansas City sports fan. She made friends with everyone she met, she loved big, and was unapologetically herself. She will be remembered for her infectious laugh and many catchphrases, like “Isn’t this fun!”. She will be missed dearly by her friends and family.
