Obituary - Mark Kevin Schuler

Mark Kevin Schuler, 66, Mound City, KS. passed away June 5, 2023, at his beloved Schuler Angus Farm residence.

Mark was born January 30, 1957, In Abilene, KS to Andrew J. Schuler Jr. “Andy” and Rosie (McLaughlin) Schuler.

Mark Graduated from Chapman High School in May 1975. Mark attended Colby Junior College and graduated in 1977 with an Associates of Arts Degree in Agriculture. Mark transferred to KSU and graduated in 1980 with a bachelor’s in agriculture economics.

After graduation Mark went to work at Wilson Foods, Inc. in Marshall, Missouri, as a livestock buyer where he met his beloved wife, Karen Samuels.

Mark and Karen wedded on August 25, 1984, and had three children, Jeremi, Matthew, and Dustin Schuler.

Mark had numerous hobbies that he got his children hooked on, restoring old tractors with Matt. It was important to him that they restored three of his dads’ oldest tractors and spent numerous hours together getting them done and back to working and new conditions. Mark got Dusty hooked on restoring old jeeps before the age of 16. Mark and Karen took annual vacations looking at old historical mansions and houses. Marks grandkids were his pride and joy.

Mark is proceeded in death by his parents Andy and Rosie Schuler, sister, Sharon Ann (Schuler) Henry.

He is survived by his wife, Karen Schuler, three children, Jeremi Howell (Brett), Matt Schuler (Mindy), and Dusty Schuler (Ashton). Five Grandchildren, Easton Brooks, Brady Brooks, Ladd Schuler, CT Schuler, and Spencer Schuler. Siblings, AJ Schuler III (Daretia), Steve Schuler (Sally), Frank Henry, Kent Schuler (Mary), Janice Stover (Tad), Julie Katz (Jeff), and Joan Schuler.

Funeral service will be 10 am Friday, June 9, 2023 at the Mound City Christian Church. Burial will be in the Woodland Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 5 to 7 pm Thursday, June 8 at the Schneider Funeral Home and Crematory, Mound City Chapel. Memorial contributions are suggested to the Mark Schuler Scholarship Fund.
