Mendie was born in Wichita, Kansas, March 13, 1970, the daughter of Douglas E. McArthur and Jill I. McArthur. She was a graduate of Wichita East High School, Class of 1988. She participated in band, soccer, and photography.
Mendie’s laughter was loud and contagious! She was welcoming and loving — anyone and everyone became family. She also had a passion for rescuing animals, including birds, dogs, cats!
She was preceded in death by her parents, Douglas and Jill McArthur, her maternal and paternal grandparents, and her son, David E. Brown.
She is survived by her husband, Richard Brown; her son Forrest Brown of Lexington, KY; daughter India Steinberg (Brown) and (husband) Scott Steinberg of Panama City, FL; brother Kevin and (wife) Pam McArthur of Overland Park, KS; father-in-law and mother-in-law, William and Bette Brown of Winslow, ME; many cousins, nieces, nephews; special family friend Bailey and Garth Hart family; special family friend Dan Reimal.
A Celebration of Life will be at 2:00 p.m. Saturday, June 10, 2023 at the Bradley & Hadley Funeral Home, Clinton. The family will receive friends following the celebration at the Missouri Department of Conservation office, 2010 South 2nd Street, Clinton, MO 64735. Arrangements are under the direction of the Bradley & Hadley Funeral Home, Clinton.
