Funeral services will be held on Saturday, June 24, 2023 at Cullen Funeral Home 612 W. Foxwood Dr. Raymore, Missouri 64083. Visitation will begin at 11:00 a.m. followed by a funeral service at 12:00 p.m. Ralph will then be laid to rest at Johnson County Memorial Gardens in Overland Park, Kansas.
Ralph was born in Concordia, Missouri to Edward Alewel and Gladys (Kuhlman) Alewel on January 15, 1926. He graduated high school and honorably served his country in the United States army between 1944 and 1946. After the military, Ralph worked as a heavy equipment operator. In life, Ralph was a faithful Freemason and absolutely loved fishing.
Ralph was preceded in death by his first wife, Helen Alewel; second wife, Patty Alewel; parents, Edward and Gladys Alewel; two sons, Randy and Scott Newell; daughter, Vicki Drehle; sister, Ethel Coy; and granddaughter, Tara Drehle.
He is survived by his son, Jay Alewel (Terri); daughters Sheri Higginbotham (Mike) and Celeste Cooper (Brent); son in law, Terry Drehle; daughter in law, Heather Newell; ten grandchildren; fourteen great grandchildren; and one great-great grandchild.
In lieu of flowers, contributions may be given to the Stanley Masonic Lodge #444, West 151st Terrace, Stanley, Overland Park, Kansas.
