Raymore woman killed after being ran over by vehicle in Hickory County

On Monday July 31st around 3:10 p.m. the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Hickory County along with Hickory County Sheriff's Deputies responded to a pedestrian that was struck and killed by a vehicle near CR 182 around three miles east of Hermitage.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when 78-year-old Patsy Strode of Raymore, Missouri was attempting to enter the rear door on the driver’s side of a Toyota RAV 4. The SUV then rolled backward over Strode.

Patsy Strode was pronounced dead at the scene of this accident by the Hickory County Coroner's Office. This is Troop D of the Missouri State Highway Patrol's 82nd fatally accident of the year 2023.
