Inside the residence, which is located across the street and in direct view of an elementary school, Investigators located approximately 3/4 of a pound of methamphetamine, three firearms- one of which had been previously reported stolen, a significant quantity of firearm ammunition and several hundreds of dollars in currency. The street value of the meth was estimated at around $8,000.
Jason Aery, age 44, and a resident of that address, was arrested for 24 Hours Investigation of Possession of a Controlled Substance with Intent to Distribute and Felon in Possession of a Firearm.
Clinton Police Investigators were also assisted by the Johnson County Missouri Sheriff's Office who graciously used their laser spectrometry device to test the substance, instantly confirming the substance was methamphetamine and thereby avoiding any delay in the investigation that would have occurred with regular laboratory testing.
