Local civic groups were busy this week making donations (above) the Butler Lions Club and Butler Rotary Club Presented the Butler Public Library a combined $3,200 to replace items due to flood damage. Below, Wayne Vermillion presents a $1,000 check to the Bates County Juvenile Office to help cover expenses related to a three day annual camp for foster children at Kamp Keirsey near Amsterdam, Mo. As some 60 kids attended this year, Amanda Mincey and Jennifer Stockdale gladly accepted the proceeds.
President Wayne Vermillion presented a check for $1,000 on behalf of the Butler Lions Club to Brenda Cecil of the Bates County Elks to help offset expenses related to Sponsoring Safety Village each year, teaching young children how to safely navigate the streets.
