Mega Millions Millionaire has sleepless night following big win..
A Mega Millions player in Henry County who won a $1 million prize in the Aug. 4 drawing had difficulty falling asleep after her big win.
“I only got two hours of sleep!” the winner laughed.
She explained it was late when she checked the winning numbers, but she was wide awake after realizing her ticket matched all five of the white-ball numbers drawn to win a $1 million “Match 5” prize.
The numbers drawn that night were 11, 30, 45, 52 and 56, with a Mega Ball number of 20. “I screamed for my husband to triple check,” she recalled.
The winning ticket was purchased at Buck Stop, 93 E. Highway 7, in Clinton. She shared plans to use some of the winnings for retirement.
Players who purchased tickets in Henry County in FY22 won more than $3.5 million in total Missouri Lottery prizes. Retailers in the county received more than $345,000 in commissions and bonuses in FY22, and education programs received more than $457,000 in appropriated Lottery proceeds.
Friday’s Mega Millions jackpot is estimated at $20 million. Because the jackpot was hit Tuesday night, the “Jackpot Reset” promotion is currently activated – giving players who buy three Mega Millions plays on a single ticket a free $2 Mega Millions ticket.
