Update: Three injured in semi truck and train collision in Cass County

On Tuesday August 1st around 4:10 p.m. the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Cass County along with Cass County Sheriff's Deputies and several first responders responded to a semi truck that was hit and struck by a train around the area of E.187th just east of Holmes Road.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the eastbound 2020 Freightliner became high centered and stalled on the railroad tracks. The semi truck was struck by a southbound train and came to rest on the east side of the railroad tracks.

Three people including two juveniles from Minnesota in the semi truck sustained injuries and all three were transported by ambulance to Overland Park Regional Medical Center for treatment.
