BCMH announces newest addition to our Family Care Clinic team

Bates County Memorial Hospital is happy to announce the newest addition to our Family Care Clinic team, Bre (Sargent) Thompson. Bre is a family nurse practitioner and comes to our rural health clinics with previous experience as a board-certified primary care provider as well as a nurse in a neuro intensive care unit. 

Bre will join the staff of Family Care Clinics starting September 25 and will see patients in collaboration with Dr. James Wirkkula at both the Nursery Street Family Care Clinic in Butler and Adrian Family Care Clinic.

Bre told us, “I discovered I wanted to be a nurse practitioner while I was working in the Neuro Intensive Care Unit. On that unit you didn’t work with patients long term and see their improvements, which is my favorite part of working in healthcare.

I am looking forward to working with staff and patients that I have known for several years and continuing to build life-long relationships. I am excited to make an impact in the community I have grown up in and live in now.”
