Deputies Complete D.A.R.E. Instructor Program

On 09-22-23, two Cass County Sheriff’s deputies graduated from Missouri’s Drug Abuse Resistance Education (D.A.R.E.) officer program.

Deputies Brianne Jones and Nicholas “Seth” Wade were in Jefferson City to take the next step in their careers as new D.A.R.E. officers.
Dep. Jones has been a Cass County deputy since 2006. She has a decorated background within the office. Her experience includes time as a patrol deputy and a detective. She is also currently a member of the honor guard unit. Dep. Jones starts her duty as a D.A.R.E. and Student Resource Officer in the Strasburg and Drexel School Districts on 09-25-23.

Dep. Wade became a Cass County deputy in 2019, when he graduated from the Sheriff’s Office Regional Training Academy. He was transferred to the D.A.R.E./SRO Unit in April 2022. Dep. Wade is currently an SRO in the Pleasant Hill School District.

"The Cass County Sheriff’s Office now has 8 D.A.R.E./SRO deputies with the graduation of Dep. Jones and Dep. Wade. We will continue to work with our school districts to keep them safe and build relationships in the community," said Sheriff Jeff Weber.
D.A.R.E. education programs are designed to provide students with the knowledge and tools they need to resist drugs, alcohol, and other high risk behaviors. It also helps them develop good decision-making skills.
