Phyllis Ann ‘Eliot’ Nichols was born March 23, 1939 to Warren and Elizabeth Eliot. She was united in marriage to Charles H. Nichols on August 1, 1959.

Phyllis had five children; Jeff, Shelley, Sherrie, Shawna, Tom and her adoptive daughter Misty, nine grandchildren; Ryan, TJ, Cortnie & Cory, Jodie, Jacob & Jana, Jared, Emily & Steven, Taylor, and Bri, great-grandma to eleven; Travis & Abby, Caleb, Jayden, Bella, Jackson, Keaton, Teagan, Kinsley, Gavin, Alex and Jacob, sister of Bev (Dave), Connie, Sandy (Danny), and Sharon (Steve) with many nieces, nephews and her forever friend Bert. Phyllis is preceded in death by her husband Charles, son Jeff and daughter Shelley.

Pallbearers include Jacob, TJ, Travis, Jayden, Caleb and Taylor. Honorary pallbearers include her children, the rest of her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

It was evident that Phyllis loved her family. She loved being a stay-at-home mom. Her grandchildren and great-grandchildren brought more joy to her than anything else in this world. She loved going to as many sporting events as she could, taught them how to play Chinese Checkers and Jacks, and gave the best hugs. She enjoyed shopping with her sisters and going to the lake. Phyllis loved the CHIEFS and would talk about them to whoever would listen, especially her friend Bert.

Her greatest advice to us was… “ONE DAY AT A TIME, SWEET JESUS”

Phyllis was the most kind, selfless and giving person you would have ever met. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to St. Luke’s Hospice House. 3516 Southwest Trafficway Kansas City, Missouri 64111 “In loving memory of Phyllis Nichols”
