Structure fire in Nevada

The Nevada Fire Department  was called out at 0004 for a residential structure fire at 119 North Indiana, on NPD arrival they found the rear of the house to be involved with flames with one of the occupants trying to extinguish the fire by throwing buckets of water on it.

On NFD arrival, light smoke coming from the rear of the structure, hand lines were used to extinguish the fire in the kitchen area of the house and overhaul took place to extinguish any hidden flames or embers. One of the occupants of the home was taken to NRMC for smoke inhalation by VCAD, no other status was known at time of this release.

Cause of the fire was found to be food forgotten on the cooking stove. NFD responded with 2- apparatus and 5 Staff, on scene time was an hour and half.
