Butler Senior Carter Trumbore Now in Excess of 2,000 Career Points

The Butler Bears met the Pleasant Hill Roosters in the first round of the Clinton 99th Annual Men’s Basketball Tournament. The Bears enter the match-up having a decent season on the backs of some great senior leadership in Dylan Davidson and Carter Trumbore, surrounded by some athletic underclassmen.

The Bears got off to a sluggish start, with 2:26 left to go in the opening period Pleasant Hill hoisted an 11 point lead over the Bears. The Roosters came out of the gate shooting lights out from deep, hitting 4/5 from deep to begin the game. The Bears found themselves trailing 16-8 after the first 8.

The Bears ramped up the scoring and found their grove in the 2nd quarter, scoring 23 points while holding the roosters to 11. The Bears went into the break with a 32-27 advantage over the Roosters.

The Bears really kept their foot on the gas in the second half, not loosing a quarter after the sluggish 1st. The Bears would take a 74-62 win back to Butler.

The Bears had multiple players with some great games, led by Carter Trumbore who had 40 points on the night with 4 rebounds, 3 steals and 2 assists. 

Senior Dylan Davison had a career high 26 points to go along with 8 rebounds and 3 steals. Carter now has over 2,000 points in his career at Butler High School. It was a fantastic team win for the Butler Bears.

The Roosters were led by Irwin with 25 points in the game.

The Bears will face Summit Christian next who defeated Clinton tonight with a final of 77-47. Summit was led by Max Rieger who had 17 points, 10 steals and 6 assists.
