A visitation will be held from 5:00-7:00 p.m. on Thursday, January 18, 2024, at Cullen Funeral Home, Inc., 612 W. Foxwood Dr., Raymore, Missouri 64083.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. Friday, January 19, 2024, at the Raymore Church of Christ 107 N. Woodson Dr., Raymore, Missouri with burial to follow at Peculiar Cemetery, Peculiar, Missouri. A reception for family and friends will be held Friday, January 19 from 2:30-5:30pm at Meet Me on Main, 515 Main Street, Belton, Missouri 64012.
Royce was born in Mount Judea, Arkansas on July 29, 1934, the son of Alfred W. Smith and Effie J. Sexton. After finishing school Royce honorably served his country in the United States Army. Royce and his high school sweetheart Flonia R. Burdine were married on July 29, 1955. Together, they were blessed with two wonderful sons, Royce “Steven” Smith and Danny Allen Smith. Royce was a man of faith and a very active member of the Raymore Church of Christ. Royce and Flonia loved traveling and spending time with family. He also was an avid bird hunter and outdoorsman.
Royce was preceded in death by his parents, Alfred and Effie Smith; his five siblings, Joyce Grosbier, JW Smith, Al Smith, Nelson Smith and Donal Smith.
He is survived by his loving wife of 68 years Flonia R. Smith; his two sons, Steven Smith (Toni) and Danny Smith; six grandchildren, Brittany Williams (Curtis), Nickolas Smith, Chase Smith, Samantha Smith, Brandon Smith, and Jamie Smith; and two great-grandchildren, Ava and Carter Williams.
