On Sunday, January 21, 2024, Virginia “Ginger” Bure, our beloved wife, mother and grandmother passed from her earthly home to her heavenly home at the age of 90 years old. There will be a celebration of Ginger’s life at the Atkinson Funeral Home in Adrian, MO, on Friday, January 26, 2024, at 11 AM with Denny Reeves officiating, with the visitation beginning at 10:00 AM at the funeral home. Interment will follow services in Crescent Hill Cemetery in Adrian, MO.
Ginger was born to Dewey and Lovilla (Williams) McDaniel of Kansas City, MO, on March 14, 1933, Ginger made her appearance in the McDaniel family as the seventh child of nine children. She made her profession of faith as a young teen and never abandon her faith of Christ. Her service to Jesus was the center of her earthly life. Ginger graduated from Westport High School in Kansas City, MO, and Central Missouri State University in Warrensburg, MO, with an elementary education degree. She and the love of her life, Robert Bure, moved to Archie, MO, where they spent their lives investing in the lives of students as teachers and coach. Ginger was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, aunt, and loyal friend with a witty sense of humor. She touched countless lives with her spiritual gifts of service, teaching, hospitality through the Archie Baptist Church.
As a devoted wife and ardent cheerleader of Bob’s coaching career, she spent countless nights in the bleachers, on a bus, running the concession stand, or at the gate greeting fans for the evening game. Her ardent support carried on with cheering for her sons in their own sports careers and school events. She was very proud of the men they become. She loved bragging to anyone who would listen about her five granddaughters. They were her pride and joy.
She was proceeded in death by her parents; six of her siblings; and great-granddaughter, Palmer Joan Rose Field. She is survived by her sister, Barbara Cipolla of Leawood, KS; her brother, Russ McDaniel of Keithville, LA; her husband of 69 years, Robert (Bob) Bure; son, Richard Bure, and his wife, Paula, of Longview, TX; son, Burt Bure, and his wife, Jeanna, of Fulshear, TX; granddaughters: Andrea and Tanner Field of Conroe, TX; Allison and Ikey Eason of Tyler, TX; Erin Bure of Nacogdoches, TX; Brooke and Victor Sanchez of San Antonio, TX; and Taylor Bure and Joel Andrepont of Grenoble, France; and 10 great-grandchildren.
The family would like to thank the staff at the Parkview on Hollybrook and Chambers Hospice Care for their tender, loving care of Ginger in her final earthly years. Your kindness will not be forgotten.
