Update: Stockton man charged with girlfriends murder

On January 16th, the St. Clair County Sheriff's Office received information related to a possible homicide identifying that Bradley Keith of Stockton, Missouri had allegedly shot and killed his girlfriend. Keith was later located on property near Stockton, where law enforcement observed a large burn pile on the property.

The investigation by the Cedar County Sheriff's Office resulted in the recovery last week of human remains from the brush and wood fire, identified this week as 27 year old Shaniya S. Haynes.

Upon questioning, Keith allegedly stated he had accidentally caused the death of the victim with the accidental discharge of a firearm during a struggle for that firearm. According to documents, Keith led investigators to the site of the shooting and showed where he had disposed of the pistol in rural Vernon County.

Bradley Keith faces charges in Vernon County of second degree murder, armed criminal action, and unlawful use of a firearm, as well as charges of abandonment of a corpse and tampering with physical evidence in felony prosecution in Cedar County. He remains in custody without bond.
