Cattle theft in Henry County

On February 19, 2024 Henry County Sheriff's Deputy Evans responded to the 1100 block of SW 650 Road regarding the theft of several head of cattle. The owner of the cattle said it appeared that someone had backed up to a gate and loaded approximately 16 head of 400-800 pound calves from his property. The suspect vehicle appears to be a flat bed truck pulling a fifth-wheel long aluminum style trailer.

The calves were found just after 10:00 a.m. the same day near Montrose. It is believed that the thieves did not properly close the back gate of the trailer and the calves exited the trailer. According to the owner, some of the calves appeared to have injuries but he was not able to evaluate them at this time.
