Hume Lady Hornets Record Breaking Season Comes to an End

The Hume Lady Hornets were one of many Bates County teams that were in the mix for a District Title this week. The Lady Hornets were the 1 seed in class 1 district 6 and would be matching up against the 2 seeded Liberal Bulldogs for the ‘ship.

Each team got off to a slow start offensively, but at the end of one, Liberal had doubled up the Hornets with a score of 10-5.

Foul trouble would become a slight issue for the Hornets in the second period, and they would go into the locker room trailing the Bulldogs 23-7.

Midway through the 3rd, the Hornets had pulled back within 10, 28-18. But the Bulldogs would come out and take a 37-25 lead after 3 periods. The Bulldogs would be able to roll to victory with a final of 47-37. Swarnes, for the Bulldogs, led alls scores with 19.

Morrison led Hume with 13 points, while Lewis had 8 as well.

Even though they fell short in the championship, the Lady Hornets had a spectacular, record breaking season. Congratulations to the the Hume Lady Hornets for what you were able to accomplish!
