Billy James Nichols was born May 12, 1949 in St. Clair County to Homer and Thelma Taylor Nichols.
He spent his working years as a truck driver and mechanic at Worlds of Fun in Kansas City, Missouri. On June 10, 1967 he married his love, Mary Charleen Wilson. To this union two children were born, James Lee on December 16, 1967 and Eva Nichole on September 10, 1972. They moved to Drexel and made the family home in 1973.
Billy enjoyed hunting, fishing, and family gatherings. After retirement he enjoyed spending the winters in Mississippi.
Billy was preceded in death by his parents, three brothers, Bobby, Tommy, and Ronnie, daughter Nikki, and grandson Coty. He is survived by his wife of 57 years, Charleen, son Jimmy, five grandson, seven great-grandchildren, sisters, and many nieces, nephews, and extended family members.
