Obituary - Louie "Carl" Robinson

Louie “Carl” Robinson, age 74, of Raymore, Missouri passed away peacefully on February 17, 2024, at home surrounded by his loving family.

A visitation will be held from 4-6:00 p.m. Thursday, February 22, 2024, at Cullen Funeral Home, Inc., 612 W. Foxwood Dr., Raymore, Missouri 64083 with a funeral service at 6:00 p.m. 

A graveside service will be held at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, February 23, 2024, at Lonesome Hill Cemetery in Phillipsburg, Missouri just south of Lebanon, Missouri.

Carl was born in Limestone, Arkansas on August 21, 1949, the son of Lawrence Jefferson Robinson and Famie Norma Shattswell. Carl was one of nine children from this union, James, Norman, Verna, Loretta, Loritta, McArthur, Betty Lou, and Carolyn Sue. After graduating high school, Carl was joined in marriage to his wife Janet in the early spring of 1967 on March 4th. Together they were blessed with three daughters, Tammy, Michelle, and Carla. In life, Carl was a contract painter working on many large projects in the Kansas City area. Carl loved playing pool, he spent a lot of time traveling and competing in lots of tournaments. He was considered to be one heck of a pool shark. Carl was a member of the Moose Lodge 2414 where he played cards with friends most Saturday and Sundays. He enjoyed spending time outdoors, fishing, hunting, boating and being at the lake. He had a big passion for buying old cars, restoring them and later selling them. Carl was in the middle of restoring a 1968 Chevy Cheville SS.

Carl was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Famie Robinson; his loving wife of 53 years Janet L. Robinson; son in-law, Scott Maxon; two brothers, James Jr. Shatt, Norman Eugene Robinson; three sisters, Verna Brooks, Loretta Fae Bailey, and Loritta Evelyn Talley; and an infant brother, McArthur Robinson.

He is survived by his three daughters, Tammy Howton (Mitchell), Michelle Maxon, and Carla Robinson; two sisters, Betty Lou Griffitt (Jim) and Carolyn Sue Cook; eight grandchildren, Tiffanie Starr (Dexter), Britney Arnold, Carl Arnold, Kayla Hartinger (Jason), Christopher Skivers, Timothy Howton, Emily Aman (Jared), and Jason Skivers; ten great grandchildren, Ray, Nevaeh, Dexter, Trinity, River, Kanyon, Saylor, Ellie, Myla, and Gracie.

Carl will be loved and missed by all his family and friends.
