Two males from Vernon County identified as Stockton Lake drowning victims

The Missouri Highway Patrol has recovered and identified all three people who were reported missing after kayaking at Stockton Lake last week.

On Thursday, the Patrol had identified a drowning victim as 18 year old Melodie Roberts of South Lyon, Michigan and were still searching for two missing men. On Friday, the Patrol recovered the bodies of 18 year old Sonny Lewis and 20 year old Iziah Lewis, both of Milo.

The exact time and circumstances are unknown, but it is believed rough water caused two kayaks to capsize Tuesday afternoon at Crabtree Cove on Stockton Lake. According to the Patrol, there was no indication of any of the victims wearing a life vest.
