According to the release, law enforcement determined a number of children under the age of eight were playing in a shallow area of a farm pond. Adults were nearby and were notified by the children of the incident. The unconscious victim was pulled from the water by an adult and CPR was started immediately.
The St. Clair County Sheriff's Office says the incident appears to be a tragic accident, but the investigation in on-going.
