Pleasanton Kansas man injured in two vehicle crash in Bates County

On Wednesday May 1st around 2:05 p.m. the Missouri State Highway Patrol in Bates County along with Bates County EMS, Hume Fire Department, the Bates County Sheriff's Office and Rich Hill Fire Department responded to a two vehicle accident at Route U and V Highway in rural Foster.

The Missouri State Highway Patrol says the accident occurred when the westbound 2012 Ford F-250 driven by 30 year old William J. Westhoff of Pittsburg, Kansas was attempting to turn and was struck by a 2012 Ford F-150 driven by 68 year old Julia E. Smith of Pleasanton, Kansas. 

A passenger in F-150 83 year old Harold E. Rittenhouse of Pleasanton, Kansas sustained minor injuries in this accident and he was transported by ambulance to Bates County Memorial Hospital for treatment.
