Bates County Rodeo Team has three High School Competitors qualified for National High School Rodeo Finals, July 14-20 in Rock Springs Wyoming.

Congratulations to McCrae Rogers of Hume High School for winning Champion in Trap Shooting at State Finals. McCrae was not only the Missouri State Finals Champion but also the 2023-2024 Trap Shooting season Champion.

Congratulations to Brock Lines of Butler High School for winning 3rd place for the 2023-2024 season in BareBack Riding. This was Brock’s rookie year in rodeo.

Congratulations to Cameron Anderson of Butler High School, winning Champion in Bronc Riding at State Finals. Cameron is not only the Missouri State Finals Champion but is the 2023-2024 season Reserve Champion.

McCrae also competed in Bull Riding but did not qualify for Nationals in that event. During State Finals McCrae suffered an injury on his second go round that prevented him from participating in Saturday’s performance.

Although the Missouri High School Rodeo Season is officially over for our kids, we have some up and coming contestants to watch for next year.

Dalley Steuk of Hume Missouri finished the season 35th in the average in Barrel Racing. Addie Johnston of Merwin Missouri finished 36th in average in Barrel Racing.

Addie also competed in Poles and finished 21st in the average for poles.

This was both girls rookie year and we saw major improvement throughout the year and we are excited to see what next year brings for these young women.
