Bourbon County Kansas man arrested on three felony charges and one misdemeanor charge

According to a complaint filed with the District Court of Bourbon County, KS, 27-year-old Alex Keanu Jacobs has been charged with a Severity-Level-3-Person Felony count of attempted murder in the second degree. For allegedly strangling his victim, as well as banging their head on a brick floor and disconnecting their calls to 911 on Friday, April 26th, 2024.

The complaint shows Jacobs was also charged with Severity-Level-7-Person Felony count of aggravated domestic battery for allegedly impeding the circulation of blood or breathing of someone with whom he has a relationship with or lives with. 

Mr. Jacobs also received a charge of Severity-Level-9-Person Felony for allegedly unlawfully communicating a threat with intent to place another in fear, as well as a Class-A-Person Misdemeanor for allegedly unlawfully restraining another person to interfere substantially with their liberty.

The arrest warrant wasn't received and executed by the Bourbon County Sheriff's office until Thursday, May 30th, over a month after the alleged incident.

Jacobs is still waiting for a date for his first appearance in court. His bond is currently set at $100,000.
