Obituary - Charles A. Cress

Charles “Chuck” A. Cress, age 84, of Peculiar, Missouri passed away peacefully on June 23, 2024, at Research Medical Center.

A Celebration of life visitation will be held from 2:00-4:00 p.m. on Friday, June 28, 2024, at Cullen Funeral Home, Inc., 612 W. Foxwood Dr., Raymore, Missouri 64083 followed by military honors at 4:00 p.m. at the funeral home.

Born in Hawk Springs, Wyoming on May 28, 1940; Chuck was one of 13 children born to Lawrence D. Cress and Laura Jones. Chuck proudly served in the United States Army. Chuck met the love of his life Karen S. Chaffin, they were married on July 9, 1965. Together they were blessed with four children, Brian, Craig, Kari, and Travis. Chuck worked in many different fields, mainly in the concrete business. 

He could fix or repair almost everything. He had a love of nature which included trees, bird feeders and anything outside. He had a passion for John Deere Tractors. He coached little league football and baseball; home and family were very important in his life.

Chuck was a member of the American Legion Post #42 in Harrisonville.

Chuck was preceded in death by his parents, Lawrence and Laura Cress; his son, Travis Cress, and his twelve siblings.

He is survived by his loving wife of 59 years Karen S. Cress; three children, Brian Cress, Craig Cress (Heather), and Kari St. Louis (Ryan); 16 grandchildren, Brian Cress, Jr. (Sarah), Samantha Cress (Anthony Schmidt), Mikayia Doss (Josh), Bradyn Cress, Adrienne Barritiz (Tabor), Presli Cress, Saige Cress, Wynsten Cress, Travis Cress, Jr., Cameron Cress, Aubree Cress, Cheyanne Cress, Chandler Cress, Taryn St. Louis, William St. Louis, and Victoria St. Louis; 8 great grandchildren, Abbygail, Kristlynn, Alixzander, Landen, Evalyn, Everett, Liam, Paige, Dax, and Tate.
