Obituary - Edward L. Hawkins

Edward “Eddie” Lee Hawkins, 66, passed away in his home in rural Henry County on June 5, 2024.

Eddie was born to Ernest Edward and Nellie Fern “Kosfeld” Hawkins on October 9, 1957, in Marshall, Missouri. Eddie loved to tell fishing stories. Most of the stories he told were of his daughters Deanna and Angel, and of his grandbabies. Both Deanna and Angel remember him teaching them to drive as a child, and how to drive a stick shift. 

Deanna remembers him teaching her to skin and clean fish. And she enjoyed going hunting with him. He loved a simple life and enjoyed watching old westerns. He enjoyed interacting with his neighbors and chatting with his old friends in Marshall and Slater area.

Survived by daughters, Deanna (Chris) Gonzalez, and Angel (Charlie) Wise; grandchildren, Chase, Lee, Aubrey and Oliver; sister, Melinda (Charlie) Welch; as well as several other family and friends.

Preceded by his parents, Ernest Hawkins and Nellie Arndt; and sister, Jamie Barnett. The family are planning a private service and spreading his cremains soon.
